UV Protection

With high temperature printing ink, the color will not be fade off or dis-colouration. The ink can be last as long as the glass itself. Typically tempered glass has an SPF of around 16 as it absorbs 65% of UV rays.

Safety

Unlike broken ordinary glass shatter into sharp shards of glass, when safety toughened glass is broken, the glass shatters into small and even pieces, which aren’t sharp or jagged, so there is less chance of injury when cleaning it up.

Compared with a standard glass of the same size and thickness it is three to five times stronger, which mean it requires huge amounts of force to break.

1.Do Saida Glass's certifications qualify tempered glass for import into the EU and US?

Answer:Yes — all tempered-glass comply with EN 12150 (EU) , ASTM C1048 (USA), AS/NZS 2208 (Australia) and CAN/CGSB-12.1-M90 (Canada), backed by ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015. Under EN 12150-1, a 50 mm × 50 mm break test square must yield 40–60 uniform small fragments, and fully tempered glass carries a surface compressive stress of at least 69 MPa; ASTM C1048 sets the same 69 MPa minimum surface compression for fully tempered glass. Saida's 100% full visual inspection plus random dimensional sampling supports the test reports EU/US customs and end customers ask for.
2.What thickness range and dimensional tolerances can Saida process?

We process glass from 0.2 mm to 19 mm thick, hold a dimensional tolerance of ±0.1 mm to ±0.5 mm depending on thickness and process, and handle a maximum panel size of 86’’. Ultra-thin 0.2–1.8 mm work (smartwatch covers, camera lenses, miniature touch panels) runs on dedicated furnaces with the flatness control display-grade glass requires; 2–3 mm is the standard consumer-electronics band, 4–6 mm suits industrial HMI/ATM panels, and 8–19 mm covers furniture, shower and railing glass.
3.Is all cutting, drilling and edge work done before tempering, and do you have the full CNC suite in-house?

Yes — every mechanical process is completed in-house before tempering, because post-temper cutting would cause instant spontaneous breakage. Saida runs precision CNC cutting with tolerance ≤ ±0.1 mm, special-shaped drilling, irregular notching, and edge finishing in flat, round, pencil, bevel and step profiles, all prior to the tempering furnace. 4.What mechanical strength can we expect from Saida tempered glass?

Tempered panels deliver roughly 4–5× the strength of annealed float glass of the same thickness: tensile strength 120–200 MPa, compressive strength above 600 MPa, and thermal shock resistance up to a 200 °C sudden temperature change. The dominant reason to specify tempered glass is the failure mode: on breakage it crumbles into small, rounded, blunt fragments rather than sharp splinters, which is why it is the required safety material for any human-contact application.
